‘Blue Buld’ is an ongoing photographic and investigative study into the disappearance of Alexander Issachar Solely, my brother, who disappeared on August 2nd 2008, two days before his 17th birthday.

In its current state, the inquiries into the case are limited and are contained within in-person conversations with those associated with the active police investigation.

This work frames public information, theories and archival documentation into fragments of evidence that help aid and critically examine the state and contexts of information in regard to the case.

The project operates through a counter-forensic approach, treating absence, contradiction and fragmentation as evidence rather than error. It is both personal and investigative, positioning me as both participant and analyst within the case.

The work in its current form is presented through layered visual pairings — portrait and testimony, site and report — collapsing personal memory with public record.

The viewer is positioned as a witness, asked to navigate and interpret the material presented.

The case remains open. The evidence remains incomplete.
